Welding Technology

weld1

Developed as a program of study to meet the industrial demands of the NEA industrial marketplace, Welding Technology is a two year program of study.  Students will learn the properties of materials and the various ways materials may be joined together including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).  Students will learn the techniques used by NEA manufacturers to seek career positions with NEA industries.

The Welding Technology program of study includes state-of-the-art fabrication machinery such as a 5 X 10 plasma table and will learn how to design materials using CAD software for plasma cutting.  Students will learn as well how to use traditional tools and machinery used in metal fabrication and preparation of materials prior to actual welding.

Certifications offered:  The Welding Technology program of study shall be certified as a site for AWS welding certifications where students will earn AWS welding certificates.
