What's up doc?

The Medical Professions course in the Health Science Technology program at the Career & Tech Center is a health career program of study in a project based learning environment. Medical Professions is generally regarded as an introductory course for the Medical Procedures - CNA course of study, recommended for students in their second year of study in Health Science.

The entire Health Science Technology program was renovated and expanded with new classrooms, a new medical lab housed in the medical commons area complete with new medical lab equipment and supplies.

Health Science Technology introduces students to health care careers through guest speakers who work in jobs as nurses, EMT’s, paramedics, dental assistants, radiologists, home health aides, and both marketing and human resource managers in the medical industry.

Students are encouraged to continue their education and training in post secondary colleges. Students are encouraged to take this course in their sophomore or junior years and continue the following school year with our Medical Procedures Health Science Technology course, which offers CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification once the CNA test is completed. Once the two-year course path is completed, students are poised to enter the medical job market with adequate training and job skills for immediate employment in healthcare.

Certifications offered:  Heartsaver CPR, AED, First Aid.
