Mr. Glenn Hudspeth

Glenn Hudspeth has been an educator of German, English, and Computer Science since 1997. He has been working with computer technology since the early 1980s when he purchased one of the first consumer computers, the 8-bit Commodore VIC-20, and taught himself to program in BASIC.
A graduate of the University of Alabama and Kansas University, he studied German language, literature, and applied linguistics while simultaneously pursuing computer-related occupations. As a Ph.D. student, his dissertation was on the benefits of social networking in foreign language pedagogy and offered evidence that students who engaged in international social networking made greater gains in foreign language acquisition than those students who abstained.
As part of his graduate work, Mr. Hudspeth lived in Germany for two years where he studied at the Gerhardt-Mercator-Universität and contracted as a peripherals support specialist with Hewlett-Packard GmbH. In addition to his academic work, he held various positions in the private sector as a computer and network technician, computer operator, user support specialist, and business consultant. He also has experience with several programming languages including BASIC, Pascal, C, Java, Javascript, and Python.
When Mr. Hudspeth began his secondary-level teaching career, Glenn specialized in using early developments in artificial intelligence and natural language processing to evaluate and provide feedback in English writing instruction. A resident of Jonesboro since 2004, Mr. Hudspeth is married to an accomplished professor at Arkansas State University and has two daughters in the Jonesboro Public Schools system.
He also lived in Paris, France, for a year and has traveled to Japan and Canada, as well as throughout Europe and the United States.
In his free time, Glenn enjoys camping, woodworking, photography, music, gardening, cooking, and relaxing with his family and dogs.
