Spring Luncheon
Posted on 01/01/2016
Jonesboro - Counselors and principals from Northeast Arkansas attended the second annual "Meet, Greet, and Eat" Spring luncheon hosted by NEA Career & Tech Center.
Some of the topics addressed at the session included CTE funding, new programs of study, and student enrollment by both program and school district. Attendees worked in groups briefly following the luncheon to address what the center does well, needs to be addressed, popular programs of study, and programs that students would enjoy if added.
Center director Eddie Crain noted that enrollment reached an all-time high the past two falls; 584 students attended in Fall of 2014 and 704 students enrolled in Fall, 2015. According to Crain, "We obviously cannot operate without you and your students. We are grateful for your support and we are willing to do what it takes to meet the needs of your students while addressing the needs of our area workforce."
Eight partner schools were represented at the luncheon including Walnut Ridge, Paragould, Bay, Jonesboro, Westside, Valley View, Nettleton, and Hoxie. Rhonda Fowler, Coordinator of Career and Technical Education at the Northeast Cooperative in Walnut Ridge also attended the annual function.
THANK YOU PARTNER SCHOOLS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
